Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Passage Export Group ("Passage", "we", "us") is an export infrastructure business registered in Mauritius. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information submitted through passageexport.com and its associated pages.
We collect only what is necessary to review and respond to enquiries from Mauritian food producers and overseas buyers. We do not sell, share or otherwise commercialise your personal information.
What information we collect
We collect personal information only when you voluntarily submit it through our contact or enquiry forms. This includes:
- Identity information — your name and the name of your business or company
- Contact information — your email address
- Location information — your country of operation or country of import
- Business context — information you provide about your products, target markets, sourcing requirements, business status, and freight needs
- Referral information — how you heard about Passage
We do not collect payment information, government identification numbers, or sensitive personal data as defined under applicable data protection law.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit to:
- Review and respond to your enquiry directly
- Assess your eligibility or readiness for export coordination services
- Communicate with you about Passage services relevant to your situation
- Understand which channels and institutions are directing enquiries to Passage
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or marketing to third parties.
The Export Readiness Self-Assessment (ERSA) is powered by the Anthropic API. Information you provide during an ERSA session is processed by Anthropic's systems to generate your assessment report. Anthropic's own privacy policy applies to that processing. We do not share ERSA session data with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the tool.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal information on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — reviewing and responding to business enquiries from producers and importers is a legitimate commercial interest of Passage
- Consent — by submitting an enquiry form, you consent to Passage using the information provided to contact you in relation to your enquiry
- Pre-contractual steps — where an enquiry is the first step toward a potential business relationship, processing is necessary to take steps at your request
Where you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that applies GDPR or equivalent legislation, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at info@passageexport.com.
How we store and protect your information
Enquiry forms submitted through passageexport.com are processed via Formspree, a third-party form handling service. Formspree stores submitted data on its servers and delivers it to our designated email inbox. Formspree's own privacy policy governs their handling of your data.
We retain enquiry data for as long as is necessary to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, and for a reasonable period thereafter in case of further correspondence. We do not retain personal information indefinitely.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure or loss. However, no method of electronic transmission is completely secure. If you have concerns about the security of your information, please contact us directly.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — Formspree (form processing) and Anthropic (ERSA tool), both of which are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing terms
- Legal obligations — where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process in Mauritius or another applicable jurisdiction
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of Passage's business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy
We do not share your information with marketing companies, data brokers, or any third party for commercial purposes unrelated to the services you enquired about.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected
- Deletion — request that your personal information be deleted, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain it
- Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your information in certain circumstances
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Portability — request a copy of your information in a structured, machine-readable format where technically feasible
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@passageexport.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.
